She completed her MBBS, DGO and MD at B.J. Medical College, Ahmedabad, and later trained in gynecological endoscopy at the Kiel School, UKSH, Germany. For Dr. Dimple Doshi, gynecology was never simply a specialty she qualified in. Becoming a gynecologist and laparoscopic surgeon was a dream she set out to fulfil, and it remains the centre of her working life.
What defines her practice is the way she listens. Women arrive at a gynecologist’s clinic at very different points in life, with concerns that are often private, sometimes long-standing, and rarely easy to put into words. Dr. Doshi has a natural ability to connect with women across these stages, to understand what is actually worrying them, and to respond with care that is both compassionate and grounded in evidence.
She is candid about what she finds most rewarding: not the complexity of a case, but a patient’s smile once treatment is over.
Having built a broad gynecological practice, Dr. Doshi pursued further training in minimally invasive surgery. She completed the International Training Course in Gynaecological Endoscopy at the Kiel School, UKSH, Germany, held in Kiel from 19 to 23 September 2016, and holds the Kiel School / UKSH certificate-diploma for it.
This training underpins her present focus on laparoscopic and endoscopic gynecological surgery, and it is the foundation on which her 3D laparoscopy practice at Vardaan Hospital was developed.
Dr. Doshi’s principal area of surgical interest is minimally invasive gynecological surgery performed laparoscopically. Laparoscopic surgery is carried out through small incisions using a camera and fine instruments, rather than through a single large abdominal incision.
At Vardaan Hospital she operates using the Karl Storz Rubina 4K 3D system, a laparoscopy platform designed to give the surgeon a high-resolution, three-dimensional view of the operating field. Dr. Doshi has a long-standing fascination with surgical technology, and 3D visualisation is the tool she has chosen to build her surgical practice around.
A fibroid, a cyst or an endometriosis diagnosis exists in the context of a person’s age, her plans for a family, her work, her fears, and what she has already been told elsewhere. Understanding that context is, in Dr. Doshi’s view, the first clinical task.
From that understanding comes a treatment plan that is personalised to the patient and based on evidence. Her communication is direct and compassionate: she explains what is happening, what the options are, and what each would involve, so that the decision belongs to the patient.
This applies across every stage of a woman’s life, from maternity care through gynecological illness to health in later years. The aim is not simply to treat a condition, but to restore the woman’s health and wellbeing as a whole.
